Pakistani Intruder Shot Dead at Border by BSF in J&K’s Samba

Srinagar: A Pakistani intruder was shot dead by the Border Security Force (BSF) personnel at the border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district on Thursday.

This incident occurred near Mangu Chak Border Out Post (BOP) in Samba sector around 2.50 am. Despite being challenged by the BSF personnel, the intruder tried to cross the border fencing. The BSF troops fired at him and he was killed on the spot.

“In the early hours today, alert BSF troops noticed suspicious movement of a person, who crossed the IB from Pakistan’s side, in Samba area,” a BSF spokesperson said.

He was challenged by the troops but the intruder kept advancing towards the border fencing. The troops opened fire, killing him, the spokesperson added.

The BSF launched a search operation in the area.

On Wednesday, Defense personnel posted at the border averted an infiltration bid on the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir’s Poonch district. Three intruders were nabbed alive with arms, ammunition and drugs. One Pakistani infiltrator and a jawan were injured in the exchange of fire.
