Son Beats Father to Death in Odisha’s Cuttack Dist

Cuttack: A son allegedly beat his father to death for not providing money to drink alcohol in the Cuttack district. The incident has come to the fore from Bentpada village under Athagarh police station in the district.

The deceased was identified as Balukenshwar Mohanty while the accused son was identified as Aparti Mohanty.

According to reports, on Saturday late at night, Aparti asked his father for money to drink alcohol. As the deceased did not pay, this morning while the father was picking flowers, Aparti hit him with an iron rod. Balukenshwar died on the spot.

On being informed, police reached the spot, seized the body, and sent it for autopsy. The cops have also arrested the accused.

Further investigation is underway.
