Soro Man Arrested for Running Sex Trade

Balasore: Soro police arrested a man for running a sex trade in the guise of a sex worker in Balasore on Saturday.

The accused was identified as Chiranjit Khilar. He is a resident of Mulisingh village under Soro PS. He was arrested following a complaint filed by his wife.

Chiranjit married his wife on March 8, 2019. He introduced himself as an engineer working in Surat to the complainant and her family. After a month of marriage, he left for Surat, leaving his wife back at home.

According to sources, Chiranjit used to run a sex racket through WhatsApp groups in Surat. After five months, his wife reached his house in Surat and was taken aback to see ladies’ clothes and some objectionable articles.

“My husband used to run a sex trade in the guise of a woman. When I objected, he not only tortured me but also threatened me with extreme consequences,” the complainant said.

The complainant went to Soro police station with her husband’s objectionable photos and filed a complaint. The police arrested Chiranjit following the complaint and produced him in court.
