Suspecting Them to be Thieves, Villagers thrash a youth to Death and Injure another in Gajapati

 

Paralakhemundi: A youth died and another was seriously injured when a group of villagers suspecting the duo as thieves beat them up ruthlessly at Kidigaon village under Kashinagar police station of Gajapati district on Thursday night.

According to sources, the victims were rounded up by the villagers outside Kidigaon at late night. Suspecting them to be thieves, the villagers started thrashing them. Both victims were critically injured.

Receiving information, a police team from Kashinagar police station rushed to the spot. The injured duo was rescued and transported to Kashinagar Community Health Centre (CHC).  One of the victims died during treatment.

The other injured was shifted to Paralakhemundi District Headquarters Hospital.
