MK Stalin Condemns BJP’s UCC Proposal as Means of Revenge and Ideological Imposition

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for failing to fulfill its election promises, contrasting it with the achievements of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). Speaking at a marriage function in Chennai, CM Stalin accused the BJP of imposing religion and attempting to establish dictatorial rule.

He specifically targeted the party’s proposal for a Uniform Civil Code (UCC), claiming it was a ploy to exact revenge on those who oppose the BJP. CM Stalin argued that the UCC would serve as a tool to promote the BJP’s ideology and cause unnecessary suffering to the people, despite the presence of existing Civil and Criminal Codes in the country.

CM Stalin also accused the central government of utilizing central agencies like the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Income Tax (IT), and Enforcement Directorate (ED) to intimidate politicians and individuals who oppose their agenda.

He highlighted an incident during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Madhya Pradesh, where he alleged that the PM was preoccupied with thoughts of the DMK.

CM Stalin countered PM Modi’s claims of the DMK ruling for the benefit of its own family by stating that the DMK is a party founded by Anna and nurtured by Kalaignar and that the entire state of Tamil Nadu constitutes the DMK family.
