Those involved in mob violence will be severely punished: Odisha Police

Bhubaneswar: A warning message to refrain from mob violence was issued to the public by the Odisha police.

Recently the Hon’ble Supreme Court directed the government of India and some states to strictly punish those doing or supporting mob violence. In Tehsin S. Poonawala vs. Government of India case, the apex court heard all the parties, and on September 24, 2018, declared that mob violence is a crime and anyone who participates in it will be punished with the most severe punishment. All persons participating in mob-related criminal activity shall be punished according to law.
Acting as per it, Odisha Police has asked the people of the state avoid participating in any incident of mob violence.
