Chennai: Tamil Nadu Minister V Senthil Balaji, arrested by ED, underwent bypass surgery in a private hospital. According to the hospital treating him in Chennai, he was hemodynamically stable after the cardiac surgery.
A week back, Balaji was arrested by the ED in a cash-for-jobs scam case. He had developed chest pain after arrest and the doctors had suggested immediate bypass surgery.
He underwent coronary artery bypass surgery on Wednesday morning, a medical bulletin issued by Kauvery Hospital said. A team led by Dr Raghuram conducted his bypass surgery. “He is currently hemodynamically stable and being monitored,” the bulletin stated. it said.
Balaji was initially admitted to a government hospital and later shifted to the private facility following an order of the Madras High Court.
