WHO prepares for the monkeypox name change: Know the reason behind it?

New Delhi: Monkeypox infection is increasing day by day in the world and the country. In the last 3 months, this disease has spread to more than 100 countries. In which more than 31 thousand people have been infected. Meanwhile, the World Health Organization has started preparations to change the name of the disease.

A meeting is going to be held near the World Health Organization. In which the name change of monkeypox disease will be discussed. Along with this, public opinion will also be taken for the new name of Monkeypox. However, the real reason for changing the name of monkeypox disease is that recently some critics have expressed concern about the name of this disease. They said the name monkeypox could be a disgrace to a race. Therefore, this name should be changed.

It is not the intention of the World Health Organization to offend any cultural, social, national, regional, professional, or ethnic group. Therefore, according to the WHO, after a meeting of scientists this week, the name of the monkeypox disease will be changed to a new name.

The United Nations Health Agency said in a statement on August 13 that it uses Roman numerals instead of geographical areas to avoid such conflicts.
