Woman Falls Into Septic Tank While Plucking Flowers, Dies

Cuttack: A 60-year-old woman died after falling into a septic tank of her house in Parashar Sahi in the Jobra area of Cuttack district on Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Jayashree Sahu (60).

According to reports, the incident took place while Jayashree was plucking flowers in her garden when she accidentally stepped on the damaged cover of the septic tank in the garden. As the damaged cover gave away under her weight, the woman fell into the tank. Subsequently, Jayashree died on the spot.

On being informed, Fire Services along with police personnel reached the spot and rescued Jayashree but she had breathed her last by then.  Later her body was sent to SCB Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem.
