Congress Leader Satya Bhusan Sahu to Contest Padampur Bypoll

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPPC) member Satya Bhusan Sahu will be the Congress candidate for the Padampur bypoll.

Satya Bhusan Sahu, a three-time MLA, and former government chief whip had won the seat in 2004. In the 2019 Assembly election, he finished third getting 32,787 votes.

Polling for Padampur byelection will be held on December 5. The result is scheduled to be announced on December 8.

The last date for filing nomination papers is November 17 and scrutiny of papers will be held on the next day. The last date for withdrawing candidature is November 21.
