Poacher Electrocuted by Own Trap, Police Arrests 9 in Deogarh

Deogarh: Member of a gang of poachers was electrocuted to death while setting an electric trap to kill wild animals at a village under Riamal police station in Deogarh district. Nine other poachers were arrested by police in connection to this case.

The deceased was identified as one Deba Sahu. He was an associate of arrested persons. Thsi group had set up a electric trap to kill wild animals at Pahinalkata jungle in Riamal area. Accidentally Deba had got caught in the trap through which high voltage electricity was flowing. He died at the spot.

Others had escaped from the spot. After receiving information, police arrested the nine poachers including a nephew of the deceased. Police also seized a country-made pistol, wires, and other materials used to set traps to kill wild animals from their possession.
