Depression Over BoB: Rain To Lash Southern Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday forecasted light rainfall from today in southern Odisha With the impact of a depression formed out of a low-pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal.

IMD said that the districts like Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, and Kandhamal will witness light rainfall while, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Nabarangpur, and Gajapati districts will witness light to medium rainfall tomorrow.

It further predicted that the weather condition will remain dry. Besides, 12 cities recorded temperatures below 13 degrees Celsius in the last 24 hours.

It will likely to move west-north-west direction towards Tamil Nadu-Puducherry and Andhra Pradesh coast.

The IMD stated that the Depression has moved northwestwards and lay centred at 0830 hours IST of today about 520 km northeast of Jaffna (Sri Lanka), 470 km eastnortheast of Karaikal, 550 km southeast of Machilipatnam and 420 km eastsoutheast of Chennai.
