Hockey World Cup | 50 Platoons Police Force To Be Deployed At Barabati Stadium: DCP

Cuttack: Ahead of the inaugural event of the Odisha FIH Hockey World Cup in Cuttack, 50 platoons of the police force and 200 officers will be deployed at Barabati stadium on January 11, 2023.

This was informed by Cuttack DCP Pinak Mishra on Saturday.

Speaking to media persons, DCP Mishra said,” 50 platoons of police force & 200 officers to be deployed for the inaugural event of Hockey World Cup at Barabati stadium in Cuttack.”

A parking place has also been allotted at Bali Yatra lower ground for visitors. Entry will be started after 2:30 pm while outside food and water are not allowed,” Cuttack DCP said.

“To ensure a safe and incident-free event, dedicated fire, security and health teams will be deployed days prior to the celebration. Traffic management and crowd control were discussed in detail,” he added.

The Men’s FIH Hockey World Cup-2023 will be organised from January 13 to 29 in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela.

To make the tournament memorable for both the participating teams and also common citizens, the state government is going to organise several mega sporting and cultural events across the state including the hosting cities of Bhubaneswar and Rourkela.
