Jajpur Road Accident: Elderly Woman, Man Killed; Pregnant Woman Critical

Jajpur: In a tragic incident in Odisha’s Jajpur district, two individuals, including an elderly woman, lost their lives, while a pregnant woman remains in critical condition following a road accident on Thursday.

The collision occurred when a motorcycle, carrying three individuals—Sudarshan Behera, Basanti Behera, and pregnant Purnima Behera—collided with an oil tanker on National Highway 20 at Baruhan Square. Regrettably, Basanti Behera succumbed to her injuries on the spot.

Sudarshan, who was transporting the two women, and Purnima, sustained critical injuries and were promptly taken to the district headquarters hospital by locals. Despite efforts, Sudarshan couldn’t survive, while Purnima’s condition remains critical.

The Sadar police station initiated an investigation into the incident after being notified. Our thoughts go out to the affected families during this difficult time.
