Judicial Inquiry Ordered Into Gobinda Sahu’s Death

Bhubaneswar: After Gobinda Sahu died in a mysterious circumstance in Kantabanji jail, a judicial inquiry has been ordered on Sunday.

DG Prisons, Manoj Kumar Chhabra ordered the judicial probe into the case after the guidelines were issued by the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC).

According to a correspondence made by the DG(Prisons) to the Balangir district Collector, the district administration will expedite the judicial probe into Gobinda Sahu’s death.

The post-mortem and viscera reports of the deceased will be handed over to a Judicial Magistrate for further investigation into the case, read the letter.

It is pertinent to be mentioned that Gobinda Sahu who was behind bars in connection with lady teacher Mamita Meher’s murder case, reportedly committed suicide in the Kantabanji jail.
