There Must Be Impartial Probe Into Gobinda Sahu’s Death: Dharmendra

Bhubaneswar: As the death of sensational Mamita Meher’s murder case accused Gobinda Sahu has raised questions on police administration in the state, opposition leaders demanded a central crime investigation into the matter.

Senior BJP leader and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Thursday demanded a CBI probe into the death of Gobinda Sahu.

Speaking to media persons, Dharmendra said, “The manner in which Sahu was found dead raises many questions and suspicion. There must be an impartial probe into Sahu’s death and BJP’s demand in this regard is appropriate.

“The mismatch and confusion over the DNA test report of deceased Mamita Meher has made the matter more serious. The nature of the investigation into the death of Sahu, who was found hanging on the jail premises, must be decided after taking into consideration facts that have come to light so far,” he added.

Reportedly, Gobinda Sahu allegedly died by suicide in Kantabanji sub-jail on December 20. He was reportedly found hanging from a window behind the jail kitchen in the morning.

A crime branch probe has been ordered into the incident.
