Odisha Woman Dies After Allegedly Receiving Wrong Injection from Unauthorized Practitioner

Nabarangpur: A woman in Odisha died after allegedly being treated by an unauthorized practitioner. The victim, Dayamani Bisoi (55), from Chirma village in Kosagumuda block of Nabarangpur district, complained of illness and headaches. Her husband, Buxi Bisoi, sought medical assistance from Samaru Harijan in Karchamal village.

Harijan, purportedly a quack, administered medicines and an injection to Bisoi. However, her condition rapidly deteriorated, leading to her untimely death. Harijan reportedly attempted to hush up the matter by offering money to Buxi. Undeterred, Buxi contacted his younger brother, who filed a police complaint.

The complaint alleges medical negligence on Harijan’s part, asserting that the wrongful administration of an injection resulted in Bisoi’s death. The local police have initiated an investigation into the matter and assure that the accused will be apprehended pending the probe.
