TMC Leader Shot Dead in WB, Assailant Lynched by Mob

Kolkata: A local TMC leader was shot dead at Joynagar in West Bengal’s South 24 Parganas district on Monday morning. An angry mob lynched one of the alleged assailants.

The killed TMC leader was Saifuddin Laskar, the area president of the party in Bamungachi of Joynagar. Some miscreants fired at him near his house.

Supporters of Laskar managed to catch one of the alleged assailants, who was beaten to death.

This incident led to tension between the supporters of the TMC and the CPI(M) in the area. The TMC followers alleged that the CPI(M) supporters were behind the killing of Laskar.

CPI(M) supporters claimed that supporters of Laskar ransacked and set fire to some of their houses after the incident.
