NIA Summons 3 TMC Leaders in Connection With Bhupatinagar Blast Case

Kolkata: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) issued summons to three TMC leaders for interrogation in connection with the Bhupatinagar blast case.

The three TMC leaders summoned by the NIA are Manab Kumar Karaya, Subir Maity and Naba Kumar Ponda. They were asked to appear before NIA officials in Kolkata on Monday. The trio was summoned by the NIA last week but they skipped the summons.

A team of the NIA was allegedly attacked by a mob on Saturday when they went to arrest two main suspects in a 2022 Bhupatinagar blast case in Purba Medinipur district. According to the NIA, one of their officers was injured and their vehicle was damaged in the attack.

But the West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee accused the NIA of assaulting the villagers.
