Odia Jawan Killed in Vehicle Accident During Patrolling in Manipur

Imphal: In a tragic sequence of events, another brave Odia jawan lost his life, this time in Manipur, soon after the recent Naxal attack in Jharkhand. The fallen soldier has been identified as Nilachal Patel, hailing from Bargarh district’s Baghapali village.

Nilachal, a dedicated member of the Assam Rifles, met with martyrdom during a patrolling mission on Friday night. He had joined the Assam Rifles in 2004, showcasing his commitment to serving the nation.

On the ill-fated day, the vehicle carrying Nilachal encountered an accident. His mortal remains are expected to reach his village on Monday, where the final rites will take place.

Simultaneously, the funeral rites for another valiant warrior, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) jawan Sushant Khuntia, were conducted in his ancestral town of Anandapur in Keonjhar. Khuntia, who also lost his life in the Naxal attack in Jharkhand, was ambushed alongside fellow jawans during a combing operation. Despite immediate medical attention, Khuntia could not overcome his injuries.
