Odisha Vigilance Raids Assistant Engineer’s Properties Over Alleged Disproportionate Assets

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance on Friday raided the properties of Arjun Kumar Sahoo, an Assistant Engineer working in the Rural Works Sub-Division of Salipur, Cuttack district, on allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

During the raid, the anti-corruption agency discovered a triple-storeyed building worth Rs 1 crore in Khandagiri Vihar, Bhubaneswar, a single-storeyed building in Sadanandapur, Derabis, Kendrapara, and 21 plots, including a prime location in Bhubaneswar and others in Kendrapara district. The Vigilance Technical Wing is currently assessing the value of these properties.

The Vigilance also seized Rs 5,45,040 in cash, bank deposits and investments in the share market totalling over Rs 88.26 lakh, various deposits in postal and insurance, and 3 four-wheelers and 4 two-wheelers.

The raids are still ongoing, and the total value of Sahoo’s movable and immovable assets has yet to be determined.
