Thunderstorm, Lightning Very Likely in Odisha Over Next 2 Days; Yellow Warning Issued

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department’s regional centre in Bhubaneswar has issued a warning for thunderstorms with lightning in several districts of Odisha. A cyclonic circulation over north Chhattisgarh is expected to bring unsettled weather to the region.

According to the IMD’s mid-day bulletin, minimum temperatures have risen appreciably in some districts of North Interior Odisha. There is no significant change expected elsewhere in the state, although temperatures remain above normal in various areas.

For the next few days, minimum temperatures are forecasted to remain relatively stable across Odisha. The highest maximum temperature recorded was 36.4°C in Bhubaneswar, while the lowest minimum temperature was 15.5°C in Phulbani.

Weather forecasts indicate that light rain or thunderstorms are likely in specific districts over the next two days. On Wednesday, districts such as Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, and others may experience such weather patterns. Thursday could see similar conditions in Coastal Odisha, Dhenkanal, and other areas.

A yellow warning has been issued, advising residents to stay updated. Thunderstorms with lightning are expected in several districts including Balasore, Bhadrak, and Keonjhar.
