Odisha to Commemorate Independence Day by Honouring 56 Fire Service, Home Guard & Civil Defence Personnel

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government will honour Fire Service, Home Guard and Civil Defence personnel for their exceptional services on the eve of the 77th Independence Day.

  • Three Fire Services personnel will be awarded the Fire Service Medal for Meritorious Service. They are Kali Charan Sabar, Bipadabhanjan Behera and Nakul Nayak.
  • Five Home Guard volunteers will be awarded the HGs and CD Medal for Meritorious Service. They are Pratap Chandra Khandual, Babuli Hati, Umesh Naik, Pramod Kumar Sahu and Bipin Bihari Biswal.
  • One Civil Defence volunteer, Pramod Kumar Dalai, will also be awarded the HGs and CD Medal for Meritorious Service.
  • In addition, 29 Fire Services personnel, 13 Home Guards and 5 Civil Defence Volunteers will be awarded commendation certificates.

These awards are a recognition of the dedication and commitment of these individuals in maintaining public safety and serving the community. They make this Independence Day celebration even more meaningful.
