Odisha’s Iswar Chandra Nayak Receives National Award For Teachers-2022

Bhubaneswar: Iswar Chandra Nayak from Odisha’s puri district received the National Award for Teachers-2022 from President Draupadi Murmu at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi on the occasion of Teachers’ Day today.

Nayak has been teaching students at the Government Upper Primary School in Kanapur in Nimapada block of the district for the last 22 years as an assistant teacher after resigning from a lucrative engineering job.

He has already won many national and state awards for his contribution to the field of teachership. His recently written books have received much appreciation at the national and international levels. He has established computer centre and library to provide free computer education to students in his village Bangurush Patana.

He is an alumnus of the Institution of Engineers in Kolkata and was chosen for the coveted annual award conferred by the Ministry of Education for his academic and non-academic publications. The award carries a certificate of merit, a cash award of Rs 50,000 and a silver medal.
