OSSC Announces Fresh Date For Postponed Preliminary Accountant Exam; Check Dates

Bhubaneswar: The schedule for the preliminary examination for the position of accountant-2022 under the ULB, Housing and Urban Development (H&UD) Department was released by the Odisha Staff Selection Commission on Monday.

The exam will be administered in OMR format in a single sitting on July 30, 2023, according to an OSSC notification.

The announcement read: “The Commission has decided to conduct the Preliminary Examination on July 30 (Sunday) which was earlier held on April 23 and cancelled on April 24, in one sitting through OMR mode in all district headquarters across the state.”

The comprehensive exam schedule and program will be communicated as soon as possible. The Commission asked the concerned candidates to visit the Commission’s website, www.ossc.gov.in, for any more updates.

Numerous candidates who showed up for the OSSC’s April 23 accountant recruitment exam claimed there were numerous errors in the question paper.

The candidates accused the panel of conducting the exam without carefully reviewing the question sheets. Due to the flawed question papers, some candidates even requested OSSC to hold the exam again on social media channels.

The OSSC announced the cancellation of the exams the following day in a notification that stated: “Because of substantial errors in the printing of the questions in the Preliminary examination for Accountant under the Housing and Urban Development department, the OSSC has decided to cancel the preliminary examination held on April 23, 2023 (both Odia and English version).”
