Security Concerns Arise as Puri Jagannath Temple Inside Pics Circulate on Social Media

Puri: Pictures of the revered Jagannath Temple’s interiors, captured on high-resolution cameras and shared online, have reignited concerns about security lapses at the 12th-century shrine. Digital creator Jony Dutta, reportedly from West Bengal, shared these images on Instagram on January 11. Sources suggest that the pictures were captured using high-resolution cameras.

Despite a strict protocol prohibiting cameras, mobile phones, and other gadgets, the photos showcased the temple’s inner sanctum and other restricted areas. This has raised questions about the effectiveness of security measures, with locals urging authorities to address the laxity and implement stricter enforcement.

“Some people are still managing to sneak mobile phones in due to lax security,” said a resident, echoing the concerns of many. “The authorities need to take this seriously and take appropriate action.”

Following the incident, temple authorities have reiterated the ban and instructed security personnel at all four entry gates to thoroughly check devotees for prohibited devices. However, this is not the first instance of such security breaches, highlighting the need for a more robust security system.
