Voting Begins for Dhamnagar Byelection

Bhadrak: Voting begins for bypoll to the Dhamnagar Assembly Constituency in Bhadrak district of Odisha. The voting started in 252 booths. The polling would continue from 7 am to 6 pm.

Approximately 2,38,417 voters will exercise their franchise to elect the deserving candidate among the five in fray. The five candidates are Abanti Das (BJD), Suryabanshi Suraj (BJP), Baba Harekrushna Sethi (Congress), Rajendra Kumar Das (Independent), and Pabitra Mohan Das (Independent).

Out of 252 booths, webcasting is being conducted in 126 booths. One hundred and ten booths have been identified as sensitive ones.

Among the total 2,38,417 voters, 1,23,038 are male, 1,15,346 female. There are also 33 transgender voters in this assembly constituency.

Tight security arrangements have been made around the sensitive polling booths.
