Chief Minister’s power in hanging situation

New Delhi: It is not yet clear whether Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s position will remain or not, but it has already been decided. Hemant Soren’s fate has reached the Governor from the Election Commission in a sealed envelope. A big decision may come soon in this case. According to sources, Hemant Soren’s assembly membership may be revoked.

Thus, a dark cloud of danger has cast over the Hemant government of Jharkhand. If Hemant Soren’s MLA membership is revoked, he will have to step down as Chief Minister. In such a situation, someone else can be made Chief Minister in Jharkhand. However, the Election Commission has not clarified anything in the case. No official information has been given by the Raj Bhawan.

The BJP had accused Hemant Soren of violating the ‘Office of Profit’ rule by alleging that he had allotted the mining lease in his name. Based on the complaint, the governor sought a verdict from the Election Commission. The hearing, in this case, was completed on August 18.
