Dhaka: In a thrilling encounter on Saturday, the third ODI between India and Bangladesh ended in a tie, resulting in a 1-1 series draw. Bangladesh set India a target of 226 runs, and India’s pursuit came close but fell short as they were all out for 225 in 49.3 overs.
During the match, India’s captain, Harmanpreet Kaur, was seemingly frustrated after getting dismissed. She was caught by Fahima Khatun off Nahida Akter’s bowling, and in her disappointment, Harmanpreet hit the stumps and directed some angry words towards the umpire. However, the visuals of the incident were not entirely clear.

India’s chase seemed well on track when they needed 10 runs from 19 deliveries with four wickets in hand. Nevertheless, a tenacious Bangladesh staged a remarkable comeback, leading to India’s collapse. They lost their last four wickets within 16 balls, resulting in a tied match and a shared trophy for both teams.
Despite the disappointment of the collapse, India’s Jemimah Rodrigues (33 not out) and Meghna Singh (6) fought valiantly to take the team close to victory. However, with one run needed off the last four balls, Meghna was caught behind by Marufa Akter, dashing India’s hopes. Notably, Smriti Mandhana (59) and Harleen Deol (77) scored half-centuries during the match.
