India Announce Squad for West Indies Series: Jaiswal & Mukesh Kumar Earn Maiden Call-Up; Pujara Dropped

Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday announced the Indian squad for the upcoming series against West Indies, comprising two Test matches and three One-Day Internationals (ODIs). Yashasvi Jaiswal, who showcased his exceptional skills during the Indian Premier League (IPL) and had a remarkable season, has been rewarded with his maiden call-up to the Indian team. Additionally, pacer Mukesh Kumar has also earned his first-ever Test selection, further highlighting his impressive performances.

The experienced batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has been dropped from the Rohit Sharma-led squad for the two-match Test series. Ajinkya Rahane will serve as the vice-captain in the Test matches, whereas Hardik Pandya will fulfill the role in the ODIs.
