Florida: In a thrilling encounter on August 12th, India emerged victorious in the fourth T20I against West Indies, levelling the series 2-2. The Indian team displayed impressive dominance, chasing down a target of 179 with a comfortable three overs to spare.
The opening pair of Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shubman Gill stole the show, creating a record-breaking partnership of 165 runs – the third-highest in India’s T20I history. Jaiswal’s brilliant 84* off 51 balls, including 11 fours and three sixes, combined with Gill’s fantastic knock of 77 (47) (4’s-3, 6’s-5) paved the way for India’s victory.
Romario Shepherd managed to pick up the lone wicket of the innings, as India’s openers dominated the chase. Earlier, West Indies had set a target of 178/8, with Shimron Hetmyer leading the innings with a 39-ball 61, supported by Shai Hope’s valuable 29-ball 45.
India’s pacer, Arshdeep Singh, stood out with a three-wicket haul, while spinner Kuldeep Yadav contributed with two wickets. The Player of the Match title was deservedly awarded to Yashasvi Jaiswal for his exceptional performance.
