24-Year-Old Indian Student Shot Dead Inside His Car In Canada

Vancouver: A 24-year-old Indian student was shot dead inside his car in South Vancouver, Canada. The Vancouver Police responded to reports of gunshots at East 55th Avenue and Main Street around 11 pm on April 12, discovering the victim’s body in the vehicle. As of now, no arrests have been made, and investigations are on.

The victim, identified as Chirag Antil, had a close bond with his brother, Ronit, who shared that their last conversation indicated Chirag was in good spirits before he left in his Audi car. Describing Chirag as a kind-hearted individual, Romit Antil, another brother, emphasized their close bond and Chirag’s peaceful nature.

Expressing concern over the incident, Varun Choudhary, Chief of the National Students’ Union of India, urged the Ministry of External Affairs to monitor the investigation closely and ensure swift justice. Additionally, he appealed for support to the Antil family during this challenging time.

To facilitate the repatriation of Chirag Antil’s body to India, his family has initiated a crowdfunding campaign on GoFundMe. Chirag, who arrived in Vancouver in September 2022 and recently completed his MBA at University of Canada West and had obtained his work permit.
