Amar Satpathy Appointed As BJD’s Senior Vice-President, Key Party Posts for 2 Other Ticket Aspirants

Bhubaneswar: The BJD has appointed four of its leaders, who were denied tickets to contest in the coming elections, to senior party posts.

As per a press release of the BJD on Tuesday, the party president and CM Naveen Patnaik appointed Amar Prasad Satpathy as senior vice-president of BJD.

Satpathy, who is the sitting six-time MLA of Barchana and former minister, was denied a ticket to contest the election. In place of him, Odia cine actor Varsha Priyadarshini was fielded as the BJD candidate for the Barchana Assembly seat.

The BJD has also appointed Srimayee Mishra as its working president of the party. She was earlier projected as the BJD candidate for Bhubaneswar Lok Sabha seat. But in place of her, the BJD preferred to name Manmath Routray, the son of Jatni MLA Suresh Routray as its candidate for the Bhubaneswar Parliamentary constituency.

Similarly, Saroj Samal, who could not get the party ticket for the Dhenkanal constituency was appointed as BJD’s senior general secretary.
