Murder Convict Escapes From Karanjia Sub-Jail

Baripada: A murder convict serving a life sentence in the Karanjia sub-jail of Mayurbhanj district escaped on Wednesday.

The fugitive identified as Laxman Mohanty, was serving life in a murder case that happened in the Thakurmunda police station area.

The sub-jailer of Karanjia Sub-Jail lodged a written complaint regarding the escaped prisoner at the Karanjia police station.

In 2019, a prisoner named Bhagwan Tudu serving a life term in a murder case had escaped from the Karanjia Sub-Jail. As per reports, a jail warder, not being able to handle public humiliation following the escape had committed suicide.
