Minor Girl’s Abductor Escapes from Police Custody in Deogarh

Deogarh: A man arrested by police on charges of abducting a minor girl allegedly escaped from police custody on Sunday in front of the Special Sub-jail in Odisha’s Deogarh district.

The escapee was 22-year-old Suman Behera of Aaunli village under Kundheigola police station limits.

He was alleged to have kidnapped a minor girl in his locality. He was produced before a local court, and his bail plea was rejected. The court sent him to judicial custody.

As the policemen took him to the sub-jail, the accused managed to dodge the accompanying cops and escaped. It is alleged that he could escape because of the callousness of the cops accompanying him.

A case has been lodged against the escaped youth on the basis of a complaint filed by a constable. Raids are being conducted by the police to nab him.
