NIA Announces ₹10 Lakh Reward Each On 2 Key Accused Wanted In Bengaluru Cafe Blast

New Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has announced a reward of Rs 20 lakh for information leading to the capture of two key accused in the Bengaluru cafe blast case. The individuals wanted are Musaavir Hussain Shazib, suspected of planting the improvised explosive device (IED) at Rameshwaram Cafe, and Abdul Matheen Ahmed Taahaa, implicated in the conspiracy. Both suspects are already wanted in connection to a terrorism case from 2020.

According to NIA, Shazib has been using the alias Mohammed Juned Sayed to conceal his identity, while Taahaa has been operating under Hindu identity documents and a forged Aadhar card with the name Vignesh.

The identity of the informer providing crucial information will be kept secret, as assured by the agency.

Earlier, on March 28, Muzammil Shareef, identified as a co-conspirator, was apprehended during NIA’s search operations across 18 locations, including 12 in Karnataka, five in Tamil Nadu, and one in Uttar Pradesh. These raids targeted the residences of the suspects and other individuals of interest, resulting in the seizure of various digital devices and cash.

NIA has stated that Shareef facilitated logistical support to other accused persons involved in the cafe blast incident. The explosion, which occurred on March 1 at Rameshwaram Cafe in Bengaluru, caused injuries to ten individuals. The blast was triggered using an IED bomb with a timer mechanism.

For those with information on the suspects, NIA has provided contact details via email at [email protected] or through call.
