Orange Warning for 18 Districts in Odisha for Severe Heat Wave in Next 48 Hrs

Bhubaneswar: Forecasting extreme heat wave in Odisha, the regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar has issued orange warning for 18 districts of Odisha for the next 48 hours.

Orange warning for extreme heat wave has been issued for Mayurbhanj, Angul, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Boudh, Jagatsinghpur, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Balasore, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Nuapada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Gajapati, Kandhamal and Keonjhar districts.

Heat wave conditions will continue in the state till April 22.

Moreover, IMD has issued severe heat wave warning in districts like Mayurbhanj, Angul, Boudh, Nayagarh, Khordha and Cuttack.

As per the prediction by IMD, the situation is likely to continue till Monday.

Talcher was the hottest place in the State till 8.30 am on Friday as it recorded the maximum temperature of 35 degree Celsius. It was followed by Bhawanipatna with 34. 5 degree Celsius and Tilagarh with 33.4 degree Celsius. Jharsuguda and Baripada experienced maximum temperature of 33 degree Celsius each during the period. Bhubaneswar witnessed 31.8 degree Celsius early in the morning.

On Thursday, Bhubaneswar was the hottest place in the State as it recorded maximum temperature of 43.6 degree Celsius. Boudh was the second hottest place with 43.5 degrees Celsius, followed by Angul (43.3 degrees Celsius), Jharsuguda ( 42.8 degrees Celsius), Baripada (42.6 degrees Celsius), Titlagarh, Malkangiri and Khordha ( 42.5 degrees Celsius each).
