Pakistan unveiled their new jersey for the upcoming Asia Cup 2023, which will be co-hosted by Pakistan and Sri Lanka. However, fans were left puzzled as the jersey does not have the name of the host country (Pakistan) written beneath the Asia Cup logo.
This is in contrast to the Indian jersey, which is reported to have “Pakistan 2023” written under the Asia Cup logo. This discrepancy has sparked a controversy on social media.
Does anyone know why the name of the host country is missing under the Asia Cup logo? It's always there, should be Pakistan written over 👀
Last year, it was Sri Lanka written over there because they were hosts despite the tournament being played in UAE. #AsiaCup2023 pic.twitter.com/yEvDG7xk9Q

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not yet commented on the reason for the omission of the host country’s name from the jersey.
Pakistan recently whitewashed Afghanistan 3-0 in a three-match ODI series in Sri Lanka. The win helped them to top the ICC ODI team rankings.
Pakistan will be looking to win the Asia Cup for the third time in the tournament’s history.
