56 -Yr-Old Unit-9 Girl’s High School to Close Down in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar: Unit-9 Government Girls’ High School, a well-known school in Bhubaneswar is all set to vanish from the map of the capital city. It will be merged with Unit-9 Boys’ High School. The land of this Girls’ High School will be handed over to Rama Devi Women’s University.

The School & Mass Education Department of the Odisha Government has already issued a notification in this regard on February 16, 2023.

The Government Girls’ High School, Unit-9, was established in 1967. At present, it has more than 400 students.

The school has 23 employees. It has been upgraded to Smart School and is part of the first phase 5T transformation.

Opposing the merger of the school with another school, some parents of students of the school had met the School & Mass Education Minister Samir Ranjan Dash.
