Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) released its fifth list of candidates for the upcoming Assembly polls in the state. This list included the name of BJD supremo and Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik for the Kantabanji Assembly seat.
BJD chief Naveen Patnaik announced the fifth list of candidates through a video message on Wednesday.
In this list, the constituencies of Prasanna Acharya and Rohit Pujari have been swapped. Prasanna Acharya will now contest from Rairakhol, while Pujari will fight it out in Sambalpur.
Earlier, BJD had named Acharya from Sambalpur and it was reported that he was not happy over it as he was interested to contest from the Rairakhol Assembly constituency.
The candidates declared in the 5th list of the BJD are:
Chitrokonda: Laxmipriya Nayak
Kantabanji: Naveen Patnaik
Padampur: Barsha Singh Bariha
Kuchinda: Rajendra Chatria
Deogarh: Arundhati Kumari Devi
Angul: Sanjukta Singh
Nimapada: Dilip Nayak
Sanakhemundi: Geetanjali Devi
Jeypore: Indira Nanda
