Bomb Attack on Former Berhampur Mayor

Berhampur: Miscreants hurled bombs at the vehicle of former mayor of Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) Siba Shankar Dash alias Pintu Dash on Friday night. Luckily the ex-mayor of BeMC escaped unhurt. The incident occurred at aroudn10.30 pm on Friday.

According to reports, the vehicle of the former mayor was targeted while he was returning back to his home in the Gosaninauagaon area. Some unidentified youths allegedly threw bombs at the vehicle of Dash at Bada Sahi in the Gosaninuagaon police station area.

The front portion of the former mayor’s vehicle was damaged. But he escaped unhurt.

The reason behind this attack has not been ascertained. Political enmity is suspected to be the possible reason.

Dash lodged a complaint regarding this bomb attack at Gosaninuagaon police station. The police have initiated a probe to capture the miscreants behind the bomb attack.

Dash became the first mayor of BeMC In 2016. He has several criminal cases pending against him.
