Mahindra & Mahindra Clarifies on Case Filed Against Anand Mahindra in UP

Kanpur: Mahindra & Mahindra has clarified its stance in regard to a case registered against Anand Mahindra and 12 employees of Mahindra & Mahindra Limited in Uttar Pradesh’s Kanpur for “false assurances” on the safety of a Scorpio car, which led to the death of a customer’s son.

The complainant, Rajesh Mishra, purchased a Scorpio car for his son, Apoorv. On January 14, 2022, Apoorv’s car met with an accident, resulting in his immediate death.

Rajesh accused the company of fraudulent practices and alleged that the company had misled him with false assurances.

Rajesh approached the dealership from which he purchased the car and raised concerns about missing airbags. He stated in the FIR that despite the seatbelt being fastened during the accident, the airbag failed to deploy.

Regarding this Mahindra & Mahindra has clarified that although the FIR was filed on September 23, 2023, the case is over 18 months old, and the said incident happened in January 2022.
