Former Calcutta High Court Judge Abhijit Gangopadhyay Joins BJP, 2 Days After Resigning from Post

Kolkata: Former Calcutta High Court Judge Abhijit Gangopadhyay, who resigned from the judicial post two days back, formally joined the BJP on Thursday.

After resigning as the High Court judge, he announced that he would be entering politics by joining the BJP.

He joined the saffron party at the BJP office in Salt Lake. The West Bengal president of the BJP, Sukanta Majumdar handed him the party flag.

After joining the BJP, the former judge said, “Today, I have joined a new field. I am happy to join the BJP and will work as a party soldier. Our objective is to oust the corrupt TMC regime from the state.”
