Headmaster Comes to School in Drunken State in Kandhamal, Suspended

Phulbani: A headmaster of a government school named Aswini Kumar Nayak was suspended by the authorities for allegedly coming to school in an inebriated condition in Odisha’s Kandhamal district.

Aswini was promoted and posted as headmaster in Government UP School at Gardingia under Tikabali block around four months back.

Locals and parents of students were complaining that Aswini was coming to school after consuming alcohol regularly. Taking these complaints into cognizance the Kandhamal District Education Officer (DEO) Pramod Kumar Sarangi had directed the Community Education Officer (CEO) Jagannath Sahani to investigate the matter.

The investigation report submitted by the CEO confirmed the allegations against the erring headmaster and the DEO suspended the headmaster on Thursday.
