Kandhamal Man Arrested for Stabbing Girlfriend to Death in Kerala

Phulbani: A police team from Kerala arrested a man identified as Samuel Badamajhi of Kandhamal district in Odisha on Wednesday for allegedly murdering his girlfriend in Kerala.

Samuel is a resident of Rangapanga village under Kotgarh police station in Kandhamal district.

As per reports, although married, Samuel built up a romantic relationship with Ritika Sahu in Kandhamal. Both of them migrated to Kerala in search of employment.

While in Kerala, Ritika came to know that Samuel was married, this led to quarrels between them.

It is alleged that during an altercation, Samuel stabbed Ritika to death with a knife and escaped to Kandhamal leaving behind Ritika in a critical condition. Ritika later died in Kerala.

Ritika’s father went to Kerala and filed a police complaint. Based on the complaint, Kerala police started an investigation and tracked down Samuel with help from Kotgarh police. He was nabbed from his father-in-law’s house where he was hiding.

Further investigation into the incident is currently underway.
