IIT Hyderabad’s Odia Student Commits Suicide

Hyderabad: A student hailing from Odisha ended her life on the campus of the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Hyderabad. She allegedly took the drastic step because of mental stress.

The deceased was identified as Mamita Nayak (21), an M.Tech first-year student. She was found hanging in her hostel room on Monday night.

She joined the IIT Hyderabad just a month back. Her classmates found her hanging from the ceiling fan.

Police have reportedly found a suicide note in her room, in which she has written that no one should be blamed for her death. She mentioned that she was taking a drastic step because of mental stress.

This is the second suicide by an IIT Hyderabad student in less than a month.
