Sunrisers Hyderabad Scorch IPL Record Books with Highest Ever Total Of 287/3 Against RCB

Bengaluru: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) blazed a trail in the Indian Premier League (IPL) on Monday, registering the highest total in the tournament’s history against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Their mammoth 287/3 eclipses not only the previous IPL record but also stands as the second-highest score in all of T20 cricket.

This feat comes hot on the heels of another batting masterclass by SRH. Just weeks ago, on March 27, they had rewritten the record books with a phenomenal 277/3 against Mumbai Indians.

Australian opener Travis Head spearheaded the onslaught against RCB, carving his way to the fourth-fastest IPL century off just 39 balls. He stitched together a crucial 108-run partnership with Abhishek Sharma (34) to lay a solid foundation for the record-breaking total. Head’s knock was a whirlwind of power, comprising eight towering sixes and nine boundaries before Lockie Ferguson dismissed him on 102 runs (41 balls).

Heinrich Klaasen took the baton from Head and continued the assault. His blistering 31-ball 67, studded with seven maximums, kept the RCB bowlers at bay on a placid Chinnaswamy pitch.

In the death overs, Aiden Markram (37* off 17 balls) and Abdul Samad (37* off 10 balls) provided the finishing flourish, ensuring SRH reached the historic 287-run mark.

This phenomenal display by SRH has set the IPL alight, and all eyes will be on RCB to see if they can chase down this mammoth total.

Brief Scores:

Sunrisers Hyderabad 287/3 in 20 overs (Travis Head 102, Heinrich Klaasen 67; Lockie Ferguson 2/52) vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
