1 Killed, Over 40 Injured in Blast at Jehovah’s Witnesses Prayer Meeting in Kerala

Kochi: A fatal explosion rocked a convention centre in Kalamassery during a Jehovah’s Witnesses prayer meeting on Sunday, claiming the life of one woman and injuring over 40 people.

Firefighters rushed to the scene, recovering a charred body, with authorities fearing the casualty count may rise.

The incident occurred during a prayer meeting at the Zamra International Convention & Exhibition Centre, where more than 2,000 people had gathered for a three-day convention. Multiple blasts interrupted the proceedings, with some attendees sustaining injuries while trying to flee the hall.

The exact cause of the explosion remains unidentified, as police continue their investigation. Top police officials, including the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), arrived at the location soon after the incident.
