Like Seema Haidar, Bangladeshi Sonia Reaches India With Son Searching for Her Husband

New Delhi: In almost a repeat of the Seema Haider incident, a woman from Bangladesh has reached along with her infant son to search out her Indian husband, according to her has deserted her.

According to police sources, this Bangladeshi woman named Sonia Akhtar is staying in Noida for the past eight days. She claims that a man from Noida named Saurav Kant Tiwari married her and lived with her for three years in Bangladesh and they have a son.

The woman claims that Tiwari, who was working in Bangladesh, got married to her as per Muslim rituals and he converted to Islam after she conceived.

Tiwari returned to India taking the plea of some important work and did not go back to Bangladesh, alleged Sonia. She failed to contact Tiwari as all the numbers were unreachable.

When Sonia came across the Seema Haider incident, she decided to come to India legally with a VISA and search for her husband in Noida.

When she reached Noida, the police detained her and kept her in a detention centre in Sector 62. Sonia says that either her husband should return to Bangladesh with her or she will stay with him in India.
