Man Jumps into River With Child Following Marital Tussle, Baby Rescued

Cuttack: Following a severe marital tussle, a man jumped into Sidhua river at Sainda village in Odisha’s Cuttack district on Sunday along with his nine-month-old child.

Luckily the locals could rescue the baby. But the man is still missing.

As per reports, the missing man is Prakash Chandra Pradhan, who was staying at his father-in-law’s house.

Prakash had a quarrel with his wife while they visited a temple. All of a sudden he decided to commit suicide by jumping into the river with his child. When, his wife tried to stop him, he attacked her with a piece of stone.

Seeing his suicide attempt, locals rushed to the spot and managed to rescue the baby immediately. But Prakash was wasjed away by the swift current of the river.

Despite search operation by the police and fire services personnel, Prakash could not be traced.
